This picture feels like it relates a very sad story, and a very real feeling for many people in live. When they feel they've become obsolete, and are simply being unplugged to be replaced with the new model. Actually that pretty much happened to me once, but she found that going for a sexier guy doesn't necessarily make him a better guy, which she was willing to admit to me later, and that it was probably the biggest relationship mistake she ever made, but now, she has to deal with it for the rest of her life. Karma is sweet.
Anyway more than enough about me. This piece is beautiful, unique, full of intriguing design and detail, and speaks to me and I'm sure many other people. That is art.
Wow. I didn't even see the gun until I zoomed in. I initially thought the head contact itself fried the older model.
Interesting that the newer of two is wired.
Love the shoulder accents on the older model. He looks like a multi-functional laborer capable of delicate (curvature of fingers) as welll as heavier (replacable pads on fingers and palm) duty. The scrapes and rust show he's been out n' about and around for a while.
Their body positioning makes me wonder if this decommissioning was by request.
The concept that there might be a sort of racism between different types of AI/Robots is actually quite interesting. Maybe, any potential overthrowing of humanity would be stifled by the same kind of difficulty we ourselves face when different kinds of people (Culture, race, class, etc) forced to work together. Maybe they might become *too* intelligent to overthrow us.
I like how their bodies mirror each other, and how they've both got cold machine expressions in a highly charged moment in time... makes me wonder what is going on, with all the wires around, it's like she has just activated or something... the android looks like it was reaching for the gynoid, and she moves too quickly for it to react? The rust marks on the android a hint at the obsolescence versus the shiny new gynoid? The hair floating up makes it feel like it's happening underwater, another womb-like feeling to the picture... love it
